Our History, Our Experience
At the end of the 1930’s, two small laboratories were founded almost at the same time: Orto in Seville (1937) and Normon in Madrid (1938). Twenty years later, in 1957, the two companies merged under the name Laboratorios Normon, with its headquarters in Madrid. That year marked the beginning of a new company, a company which, over the following two decades, would take giant steps in its sector to become the Normon of today, based on constant innovation and continual development.
It was during the nineties that Normon consolidated its position as a leading generic drug company, thanks to the efforts involved in the “first plan for the development and study of bioequivalent generic drugs” presented in Spain (1992). At the end of the decade, our company launched the first authorized generic medicinal products [Especialidades Farmacéuticas Genéricas, EFG] in the country (1997).
The company’s more recent history has been notable for its policy of constant improvement and expansion in its facilities, based on ploughing-back profits. As well as the continual expansion up to 2002, Normon was also designing its new headquarters: a modern new building in Tres Cantos, Madrid, which in 2004 started becoming a reality. Today, these innovative facilities represent a promising reality, where the past, present and future converge in a Spanish company conceived by everyone whose privilege will be to enjoy it.
